Welcome to my website. Here I have combined my passion for painting, with my love of animals and the natural world around me. Pastels are my medium of choice because of the wonderful immediacy of them. Their brilliance of pigment and the softness of consistancy, are perfect for capturing the glorious play of light and shadow, which is for me, the essence of painting
Classically trained in the realism style of the Old Masters' but with the heart of an impressionist, I like to capture an animals "presence" on a more emotional level than just a technical portrait. The soft, pure pigments really lend themselves to depicting the shine of a pet's coat or the gentle spirit gazing out of their eyes...
